I made a shadow box for some chocolate butterflies that I purchased at HomeGoods. Just like many, I am attracted to bright shiny things!!
So these caught my eye and I immediately thought of making some sort of treat box using the new Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance set with these.
I set out to make a shadow box by referring to a video that my Stampin' Up! upline, Chris Slogar of Buckeye Inklings made. Chris does a great job of explaining how to make a shadow box in this video. I just adapted it to my candy size and used the same scoring line measurements.
Instead of a sleeve to wrap around the box, I made a window box top to show off those cute butterfly chocolates. Using the Stitched So Sweetly dies I cut a long scalloped rectangle in my box top by running it through twice to elongate the opening. I used some Tear & Tape on the back of the box top to adhere the Window Sheet piece cut to size.
While I did use one of the butterflies included in the Brilliant Wings Dies from the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle, most of the embellishment on the box is from the Pierced Blooms Dies. I used bright colors such as Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight to make a nice cluster of flowers for the corner of the box top. These Pierced Blooms flowers are fun to play with, there are so many different sized flowers, leaves and centers to make millions of combinations of flowers with to adorn your cards and projects!
I hope you enjoyed my Spring treat box.
I have a couple of Easter Baskets that these will get tucked into!
