In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

Welcome
Hi, I am Ann, a self proclaimed dish hoarder. I have a penchant for anything plaid, polka dot, or paisley. I love mixing patterns and colors. This has evolved into paper projects as well. I created this page as a way to share my inspiration and ideas with others! I find myself starting a new chapter in life at 65!! I am so grateful to the support of my children and my friends who have been by my side. I look forward to many more years of creative endeavors and hope to share more with you in the future! Thanks for stopping by :)

Good Morning Ann! I love your black and white take on Thanksgiving! It’s perfect for a casual celebration and Friendsgiving meal. I can see why you were tempted by that adorable trio dip set and your sweet pilgrim girl is the star of the table! I always enjoy seeing your Stampin' Up creations and fun takeaways you include in your tables. As always it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Happy November. ♥
ReplyDeleteSee, Ann, this is why I love you! THIS is a GREAT tablescape for Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, or any time during the fall/winter seasons! Black & white in and of themselves are a terrific combo, and when you add in all the textural stuff with the only color coming from those two little pumpkins in the Pilgrim's hands...perfection! You even kept the food in the neutral zone! And are those navy beans at the base of the little centerpiece tree? What a great idea!!!!!!!! (If they're not, please forgive me. I'm on my desktop instead of my phone. Can't blow it up...or don't know HOW to blow up a pic...to get a closer look.) I LOVE that flatware!!!!!!!!!!!! The way the forged iron kind of trails off to expose the silver at the tip. So cool!!! So very nicely done! I KNEW yours would be top notch! Enjoy Thanksgiving with your son and daughter-in-law, and have a safe one!
ReplyDeleteAs always, I love your table Ann! I'm a huge fan of black and white, it is so versatile and the way you have mixed and matched so many black and white different things is wonderful! I'm crazy about your pilgrim and new patterned dip dishes, and love the texture added with the rattan chargers and the adorable rafia tied favor box. Your mantel looks great too, love the draping wooden beads. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your son and daughter in law!

Good morning, Ann. I always look forward to seeing how you will style a table. The black and white theme is perfect, especially for a Friendsgiving (how fun). The pilgrim, the dip and cracker dishes are lovely inspiration pieces for your black and white theme. You always have the best favor boxes. How nice to go to your sons and DIL for Thanksgiving. Wishing you a lovely season of Thanksgiving!

ReplyDeleteAnn, your casual table is beautiful. I agree with the others that your black and white theme is a perfect way to celebrate the Holiday. I also look for your usual party favors that your guests must look forward to each time you entertain as they are always a special gift made with love. Happy Thanksgiving

Ann, you know I am a fan of black and white. Such a cute pilgrim. I need to get out more.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the flatware. The plates, the bowls are lovely. It wouldn't be a tablescape without your signature handmade party favor. The wood from your table is lovely. Friendsgiving is perfect. I love everything about your table Ann. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving at your son's house. Always a pleasure to blog hop with you.
I am so partial to black and white so I was drawn to this table! Cute finds from the local gift shop! And the pilgrim makes a perfect centerpiece. Your favor boxes are a perfect and generous touch! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI’m also partial to black and white, and love the casual styling that mixes prints and patterns for a warm and welcoming table. Especially love the pilgrim girl with the buffalo print skirt — she couldn’t be more perfect in your centerpiece. Not to be missed is your signature party favors. I always look forward to seeing what you create. Enjoy Thanksgiving at your son’s. I know I’m looking forward to going to our guys’ too.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy reading about how bloggers are inspired, and your little dip tray set is so cute and worthy of inspiration. I love the Pilgrim lady: she matches everything on your table. Black and white is a fun color combination, but I wouldn't have thought of using it for Thanksgiving. I might try this color combo next year. Kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!

Oh Ann, I am so behind! I had a meeting yesterday and that set me back.
ReplyDeleteYour table is oozing with personality! So love your pilgrim girl as your centerpiece. I can feel your excitement when you found her. You do such a good job decorating your mantle as well as your table and it is fun to see. Your black and white mix and match dishes are perfectly styled. I give you an A+! The white lacy goblets are so pretty. All your textures go together so well! Your signature stampin up favors always are charming. I'm pinning your table.
Enjoy your family for Thanksgiving.
Ann, your boho table is charming! Love your pilgrim centerpiece and your black and white color palette! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteAnn, you are a girl after my own heart. I love to mix it up and black and white is always a favorite. Cute little treat boxes. I agree it is always fun to have a little something special for your guests.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Thanksgiving at your DIL's. Happy Thanksgiving!
You cannot go wrong with black and white and it is working on this table. Over and again I keep telling myself that I don't need any new pieces. However, if I come across the black serving boards I will a corner or shelf to keep them. Loving the treat boxes and wish you and yours a Happy and Peaceful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I always love your tables! The black and white creates such a beautiful and elegant setting. The pilgrim is a perfect and cute addition to your table. The treat boxes are such special touch. You have thought of every detail. I hope that you and your family have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I couldn't agree more on the comment of striking so many friendships through our love of tablescaping. Celebrating Friendsgiving is very much a thing, and I love your casual vibe you've carried out as your theme. Lol, I chuckled at what actually sparked your creativity here with the dip tray set. That very same thing happened to me a year ago, a table which has yet to be set. 😉 Your plates of expression are perfect for this, and I always like seeing your Stampin' Up creations. A very nice tablescape! Thank you for being part of this group. I'm grateful for our blogging friendship! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThe graphic black and white is quite a departure for a Thanksgiving table, but it works nonetheless. The various patterns are striking. Love the plates adorned with lovely sentiments. Love the idea of having a Friendsgiving apart from the traditional get-together. Families seem to have first dibs on Thanksgiving celebrations, but friends are just as important to have and to celebrate. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteAnn, This is so sweet! I just love the black and white! I can see why you picked up the dip set and the cracker tray. I could use those over and over again! They are such a nice alternative to always putting out a charcuterie board these days. All of the little touches like the adorable little favor boxes are the icing on the cake! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteAnn, you always find the coolest tableware! I can see why the dip tray set inspired your tablescape...it is so chic! I love the tile patterns. Black and white is a classic color combination for any occasion, including Thanksgiving. How nice that you're going to host a gathering of friends for a casual meal at home. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your son and daughter-in-law!
