OSAT Time to Saleabrate - Christmas in July

Welcome to more Christmas in July here at Corner of Plaid and Paisley!

Today I am participating in the OSAT Time to Celebrate Blog Hop!

Which means I was challenged to do a card and a 3d item with the current Sale-abration items for this month's theme.

I am using two different Sale-abration items with both my card and my tea light box.

The Tree Lot Dies is my favorite being offered with a $100 purchase, but I was afraid that there would be a lot of those cute little campers that comes with this set in today's hop- so I chose to go a little different route with using just the tree dies. I am also using the Silver & Gold 6 x 6" Designer Series Paper which is free with a $50 purchase.  These two together with some watercoloring and Gold Foil paper makes a little more elegant version of a card.

The card base and ink I used to watercolor with is Soft Succulent.  I used the Layering Circle dies and the Tailor Made Tags dies.  The sentiment is from a wonderful new Christmas sentiments stamps called Brightest Glow - do not overlook this set - it is part of a large Suite - put can be purchased on it's own.  I just love all the fonts that are in this set!

I used Shimmery White Cardstock and my Water Painter for the trees, the tag and the circle on the box to get that soft look.

This box is a basic box used to hold 8 of the small flat tea light candles.

  •     two pieces of 5" X 5" - I used Basic White Thick Cardstock
  •     The bottom is scored at 1" in on all four sides
  •     I adhered one piece of  4 7/8" x 4 7/8" Gold dotted DSP to the top piece before I scored it at 15/16" on all for sides - be sure to put small amounts of glue even in the middle so that it does not separate when you die cut - which is the next step!
  •     Die cut the Christmas tree out where you want it - I put it in the lower left corner to leave some room for a tag.
  •     Cut a 3" x 3" window sheet and adhere to the inside with glue dots in the four corners
  •     Cut the detailed tree out of Gold Foil Paper  - I used tiny amounts of glue to adhere it to the window sheet.
  •    cut the corner flaps and fold on the score lines to make a basic box and assemble your box top and bottom.

I used Versamark and Gold Embossing powder for my sentiment and the Simply Elegant Gold Trim for the bows on both the card and the box.

The Sale-abration Sales are the best time to do your shopping for your Christmas Cards because of all the free items you can get with your purchases.  You can get both the Silver and Gold Paper and the Tree Lot Dies for free with a $150 purchase.

So let's see what everyone else has made with their free items from Sale-abration!!

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  1. I love the simplicity and elegance of these projects. It really showcases the versatility of the dies set.
