Welcome to Corner of Plaid and Paisley where signs of spring are sprouting up here in Ohio.
I am happy to be participating in our Spring Tablescape Hop organized by the wonderful Rita of Panoply! There are 19 wonderful table stylist participating in our hop today with a mix of Easter and Spring Tables. All of the links to these inspirational tables will be at the end of my post for you to enjoy.
My table is all about the new growth of plants just popping up all over the gardens showing sure signs of Spring. Here in Ohio, we are hoping that the little bit freezing weather we will still get will not hurt their growth.
These Tete-a-Tete Minature Daffodils are my favorite spring flower because they are one of the first to sprout. I used lunch bags that I cut a zig zag edge across the top and then wrapped the flower pots and tied it with a little yellow gingham ribbon. Greenery and several cute little ducks are tucked in between the flower pots.
You may notice that my table is not in my usual setting. This table is at my daughter's house. I too, am in a state of new growth as I am in the process of starting a new chapter in my life and I will be moving soon. Since I have not moved my dishes yet, I was a little limited to what I had available to me to set this table. I did purchase the plates new at HomeGoods about two weeks ago.
I liked uniqueness of the wood on just a portion of the plate and the leafy motif on the rest of the plate.
The loosely woven rattan placemats along with the round greenery charger mats remind me of the state of the way our garden beds look now - sparse and full of twigs waiting for new growth.
Good morning, Ann! What a very fitting and cheerful table youve brought us today. Your description of what we're seeing in the landscape right now and how you've styled your table are perfectly matched. The greens and browns in the textiles and plates with placemats are definitely how I see the garden right now, amd those pops of yellow. I love those tete-a-tete daffodils, too, and have several in my own landscape. Such happy flowers, and what a great favor. They look adorable as your running centepiece with the ducklings. I am beyond happy to have you join in our hop today, and want you to know, Ann, that I wish you a beautiful new life unfolding this spring, with a spirit that no cold weather or heart can ever wither! 💚🌼
ReplyDeleteAnn your table is lovely and I love the lunch bag full of daffodils. So unique. And the little ducks are so cute peeking out between the pots. What a find with the plates, I never seem to be at Home Goods at the right times I guess. LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, I did notice a difference in your locale and I wish you well on your new journey. Thanks for handing the "cloth" to me and as you can see I will be packing it up and sending it on for the continuation of its journey.
Happy Easter! 🐰 🐇🐣 🐤 🌷💐💜

Daffodils are so springy! I have such great memories of a kid back East seeing all the daffodils pop up in my neighborhood. Such a great idea to have them in paper sacks for your centerpiece! Rattan placemats are what I use all the time they bring in a nice texture. Home Goods is such a great place to find beautiful plates. Love yours and the chargers! Great job!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I always look forward to your tables and this one is no exception. I love the simple wrapping of the tete-a-tete daffodils in the brown paper bags with the zig zag cut tops. Your table perfectly mimics the March landscape with the browns, greens and cheery pop of yellow from the daffies. Love the earthy texture of the woven rattan placemats, napkin rings contrasting the greens on your table. Wishing you all the best as you embark your new journey. ♥ As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Happy Spring.

Love bring them out for Easter. Happy days ahead as you settle into your new place. Happy Spring and Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteAnn, you've perfectly captured the moment when spring begins in the garden, for that is the place it first arrives. I love the canvas of rattan and leaves that you used as the base for the dishes, which have all the shades of new leaves. My heart belongs to daffodils and your tete-a-tetes are so cheerful! Along with the spunky ducks!
ReplyDeleteThat's darling, Ann! I love the look - and the symbolism - of your daffodils, and what a sweet gift to go home with your guests. Love the tablecloth too, and your whole table altogether. Perfect for spring and new beginnings. So fun hopping with you!
