Welcome
Hi, I am Ann, a self proclaimed dish hoarder. I have a penchant for anything plaid, polka dot, or paisley. I love mixing patterns and colors. This has evolved into paper projects as well. I created this page as a way to share my inspiration and ideas with others! I find myself starting a new chapter in life at 65!! I am so grateful to the support of my children and my friends who have been by my side. I look forward to many more years of creative endeavors and hope to share more with you in the future! Thanks for stopping by :)

Very cute!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable Ann! I love the retro colors and the map flatware holder is so clever! I have fond memories of road trips back then too. The Target finds are so cute and the outdoor setting is perfect! What a great find at the quilt store, how cute for your napkins! Love it all Ann, I hope you have a wonderful summer!

This is darling!! You also sparked memories of summer vacations for me....we always seemed too head north to Maine, NH, VT, Canada and always stopped by the road in a scenic area for picnic lunches. Mom always had a map opened up, guiding Dad through the back country roads to special places she had thought about all winter! Your colors in the table are also reminiscent of the 50's and 60's! It gave me a great feeling and i enjoyed your post!
ReplyDeleteAnn, this is just the cutest! I love the nostalgic memories and all of your creative road trip decor--pinned!
ReplyDeleteWe just came back from a road trip, Ann, and it was such fun. Your tablescape is so nostalgic and brings back great memories. Loved the pink convertible and trailer. The dishes were perfect for this setting. Makes me want to get on the road again.

Ann this is so cute and the colors remind me of my childhood. Target finds gave the table the perfect retro look. The folded map is ideal for the plastic flatware. I too, to this day, love reading a good road map. This is creative and makes for a lovely road trip! I always enjoy hopping with you!
ReplyDeleteAnn you have brought back memories of road trips and taking food with us and stopping along the way at roadside stops. There used to be a lot of those with maybe a bit of a clearing and a single picnic table along side the road. This was before full fledged rest areas. We didn't have much money so my parents were very frugal on the first couple days of our trip. And yes, we took coolers with ice to carry sodas, iced tea, fried chicken, bread and butter sandwiches, deviled eggs, boiled eggs, chips and cookies (home made). We also had plenty of bread and balogna, cereal and milk...and if we ran out we would stop at a market and buy more. As far as eating at a cafe or diner, my dad made those stops few and far between. And no, to my knowledge no one died from food poisoning. LOL And I, too love maps and to this day I will look at maps (on Google sometimes) just to see where someplace is relative to somewhere else. I don't like s snapshot view. Now I want to take another road trip. Have a happy summer.
ReplyDeleteAnn, I share your same memories of summer family road trips…no seat belts required! I’m chuckling over “we are off like a dirty shirt", I’ve never heard that expression π Super cute theme and table inspired by your sign! Love your map fold pockets for flatware and adorable camper napkins you made. The top plate of your stack is so cute and retro framed by your plaid plates. So happy to join you at the table and hop with you again! Happy almost Summer π
ReplyDeleteAnn, this is SO adorable! It sure takes me back to family road trips too, when the station wagon back seat faced oncoming traffic, no seatbelts, and siblings yelling, "I get the big seat, I get the little seat!" of the middle row of seats. My dad would get about ten miles out of town and say "who's hungry?" much to the dismay of my mom who had packed only enough for one meal along the long trip. Good times, and this tablescape is all that! Those road map pockets are fantastic, the Target decor and fabric as napkins really great, and having it set near the water on the picnic - total nostalgia. Thanks so much for bringing your very creative mind to the table in this hop. I hope you have a good summer. Happy June!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Ann - this is so cute and it brought such a smile to my face to see your table. I love the theme and the retro camper, car, and hotel - what great finds. The plate stack is so pretty and the road map napkin holders are so creative. Love the pink gingham tablecloth. I remember 1 road trip in particular when we drove from Regina to Minneapolis - I was about five years old I think. Such a delightful table and it was a pleasure hopping with you. Have a wonderful summer!
ReplyDeleteAnn, I adore your road trip table. So many retro fun objects and colors. It sure does bring back some childhood memories. Love the pink gingham as a pretty backdrop for those cute plates. How creative to use maps as flatware holders and those darling napkins you made. So creative and fun. Always a pleasure joining you on these fun tablescape blog hops. Happy upcoming summer.
ReplyDeleteAnn, your table is one close to my heart since I remember the days of slow road-tripping with family and you certainly captured that feeling. So many wonderful memories come from seeing your sweet table. I love the pastel colors, especially your use of pink in the gingham tablecloth and the pink vintage car and camper. Certainly, the map flatware holder speaks volumes. (We always used a lot of maps!) And it wouldn't be road tripping with the "motel" sign. I love the pastel speckled plates too. It warms my heart. My bags are packed and I am ready to go! Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteAnn, this table makes me smile! It is so pretty and perfect to celebrate summer. I love the map silverware holders. You are always so creative and create the best tablescapes! It is always a treat to join you on these hops. Happy summer! Shannon@Belle Bleu Interiors
ReplyDeleteOh, my! I love your tablescape, especially all the Mid-Century fun! Years ago we lived in a Mid-Century Modern home, and it had some of the same colors in it, and we loved it! LOVE the road trip theme. Everything is so darling! And the terrazzo plates are perfect. Kudos, Ann!!!
ReplyDeleteAnne, I'm a child of the 50s and 60s and summer road trips were our vacation. We were a family of six, and most often drove to Colorado and Montana for our summer vacation. A cooler filled with drinks and sandwiches provided our meals at the rest stops along the way. And yes, give me a paper map please! Love the road map napkins and the colors of your tablescape. Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteOh Anne - thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for creating such an absolutely charming table!!! My daughter and I saw those campers at Target and we loved them so much!! I can't wait to show her your table. It's delightful. I love every detail! Especially the plaid plates, the napkins and the map flatware pockets. Perfection my dear!! BRAVA!!! This makes me want to watch the Disney Cars movie again :-) ~Hugs~ Jennifer
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Ann your whole table is absolutely the cutest!!! Your map-napkin flatware pouch had me from the start, and that you made them is even better! This is totally adorable - I wouldn't even want to mess up all those fabulous details by using it! :) And what a great view from the table. I feel like I just took a mini vacation! Thanks for being so wonderfully creative, making me smile, and giving me a ton of ideas! Happy Summer!
ReplyDeleteAnn, this is so darn cute! The colors of the tableware are cool summer perfection, the aquas echoing the water colors. The retro style is fun, and the pinks are just a touch of Barbie call-out (my blonde pony-tailed Barbie had a gorgeous pink satin gown just that color!). The napkins are adorable and the map pockets for the flatware is inspired. What a fun tribute to childhood memories. Have a great summer -- and tell us all about your next road trip!
ReplyDeleteOh, the memories Ann! Your summer road trip table is so fun. LOVE the colours! The flatware envelope was a fantastic idea, and what fun finds from Target Dollar Spot. Sadly Target didn't last long in Canada so we miss out on all the fun finds!
ReplyDeleteLove the Road Trip table! The colors are lovely and all blend together so well. And the map cutlery holders (and plastic flatware) are so cute. Makes me think of Route 66.
