For all the Roses in My Life - Valentine Table

I dedicate my Valentine table to all the roses in my life!

I have have the most wonderful garden of family and friends and I think of each of you as one of these beautiful roses.

I am participating in our Valentine Tablescape Hop today!  Much thanks to Rita from Panoply, who has once again gathered a fabulous group of table stylists to show off our Valentine tables.  All of the links of the blogs participating will be at the bottom of my post.

“Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses.” – Alphonse Karr

This table all started when I found this fabulous footed plaid bowl with hearts at HomeGoods while Christmas shopping with one of my girlfriends.  Even though it was before Christmas it went into the cart knowing full well that it would not last long on the shelf.   I knew I wanted to fill it with red and pink roses - but I am not much of a flower arranger-so this was a bit out of my comfort zone.  I didn't want to ruin the roses!!

I give my fellow tablescapers all the credit for giving so many tips over the years, that I was able to make my vision come to life.

A cluster of paper flowers and a paper bow tucked into hem stitched napkins creates a little bouquet for each placesetting.
This bow was made from a die set from The Greetery - one of my favorite card making supply shops online. ( I do not receive any compensation from them, I just love their products.)
The scattered hearts tablecloth is from HomeGoods and the little treat bowls are from Hobby Lobby, both this year.  Everything else are items I had in my stash.
I enjoy changing out my hutch to coordinate with my tables, using many of the dishes from past Valentine  tables.

In the past few years my interests have grown from fabric to paper and now to dishes too! I just love prints, polkadots, plaids and paisleys- hence the blog name.

  1. Oh Ann, what an ADORABLE footed bowl! I would have popped it my shopping cart too if I had seen it. You did a beautiful job arranging your roses and I love the tablecloth with the scattered hearts. Your plate stack with the pink and white layers framed by the red placemats is perfect for your tablecloth and your bow and mini bouquet in your napkins are such a sweet touch! I love the sentiment and theme of your table too: “I have the most wonderful garden of family and friends and I think of each of you as one of these beautiful roses”. As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Happy Valentine’s Day ♥

  11. Ann, such a pretty table you've set for Valentine's Day! The plate stack is very textural and the alternating colors are the perfect way to set off the tablecloth. The cute bouquets tucked in the napkins are tied with fabulous bows. And the flower arrangement is so lovely -- it looks like you're an old hand at it. I like that you continued the festive feel in the hutch.
